TECSES Kick-Off and Workshops in Karnali

On March 6, 2025, the TECSES project officially launched in Karnali with a symbolic ceremony led by Minister Ghanshyam Bhandari, who poured water on flowers to mark the beginning of efforts to strengthen teacher education. This event set the stage for collaborative discussions on improving education in Nepal.
The kick-off brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Karnali Provincial Government, local governments, universities, development agencies, and local schools. Through interactive workshops, participants examined the challenges in teacher education and explored strategies to enhance pedagogical skills, strengthen training programs, and improve support systems for teachers.
Active engagement from provincial and local representatives, including officials from various palikas, as well as educators and university leaders, ensured a comprehensive approach to developing actionable solutions. The insights gathered from these discussions will shape future initiatives and support the effective implementation of TECSES.
Karnali is the first province where TECSES has begun its work. In 2025, the project will expand to Madhesh and Sudurpaschim Provinces, building on the foundation laid in Karnali. TECSES is committed to promoting inclusive teacher education, ensuring that teachers across different regions receive the necessary support to create better learning environments for all children.
A heartfelt thank you to Minister Ghanshyam Bhandari, Director of PETC/HRDC Dharmajit Shahi, and Director of EDD Dipa Hamal for their invaluable support. We also extend our gratitude to the many Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Chairpersons, and Vice Chairpersons from various palikas who traveled from remote areas to contribute to these important discussions.
