Federal level work
TECSES collaborates with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) and its key agencies—CEHRD, TSC, CDC, and ERO—to strengthen their capacity to support inclusive and high-quality teacher education in Nepal.
TECSES will work closely with the Development Assistance Coordination Section of MoEST to create a unified system for reviewing teacher-related frameworks, under the leadership of CEHRD. An expert team will be formed to guide this work. The expert team will include representatives from the TSC, ERO, CDC, CEHRD, universities’ education faculties, and teacher education specialists. The team will review the Teacher Competency Framework and will lead the process of updating the framework. This will include teacher consultation workshops, expert meetings, a national-level framework revision workshop, and the drafting of the revised framework.
TECSES is also partnering with CEHRD to develop a new in-service teacher training package focused on inclusive education. The training will follow Nepal’s national guidelines and be based on effective, evidence-based teaching practices. CEHRD will lead the rollout of the training, while Provincial Education Training Centres (PETCs) will carry it out across the country.
In addition, TECSES supports the Education Review Office (ERO) in selected activities that closely link to the improvement of the teacher education system in Nepal and its capacities. This includes, for example, support for developing disability-inclusive assessment strategies and conducting studies on inclusive practices in schools.
