Sharpening the Tools: Teacher Evaluation System Training in Karnali

On May 13th, 2025, TECSES organized a training on teacher performance evaluation in Karnali Province, bringing together key education actors from the Ministry of Social Development, Education Development and Coordination Units (EDCUs), Local Education Units (LEUs), and head teachers. 

The training focused on three main goals: 

  • Improving understanding of the teacher evaluation form and scoring system 
  • Supporting better coordination among provincial, district, and local education offices 
  • Developing a clear plan for performance evaluations that link to teacher career growth 

The training featured presentations, group discussions, and hands-on exercises designed to build practical skills and foster collaboration. 

Why It Matters?

Strengthening teacher performance evaluation is an important step toward ensuring quality and accountability in Nepal’s education system. With the training, TECSES is working together with local education actors to make the evaluation process more consistent and transparent. It also supports stronger teamwork across different levels of the education sector in Nepal.
